I’m sure that after seeing this document, you will agree that the amount of statistical information available in South Africa is shocking. Professor Charles Parry from the Medical Research Council agrees that South Africa’s perception of addiction needs to change radically to include sex, pornography, pharmaceuticals, gambling, other behaviours, cigarettes and alcohol. The group consciousness of the country is blissfully unaware of the massive epidemic of addiction in S.A. He agreed that there were literally millions more people living with undiagnosed addictions than there were people living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa today.
